About Dinner Club Recipes

Dinner Club Recipes is the collection of diverse recipes created from the club my younger sister and I started while living in downtown Chicago. Although it was only a two person club (her and I) it was one that I will always cherish and was my motivation behind starting this blog

My younger sister is talented in many things, but cooking is not one of them. So  when we were both in the process of moving into the loop my sister not only wanted to learn how to cook for 1 but she also wanted to make sure that we still continued to be involved in each others lives. From that idea we agreed that we would alternate hosting each other at our apartments and try to cook a new recipe each week so we could improve her (and my) cooking skills.

What started out as her and I learning how to make simple recipes like tacos and chili expanded into making rack of lamb, home made noodles, and beef bourguignon. Word got out at our family gathers and at our workplaces and every week people closest to us would ask what was on the menu this week for our Dinner Club.

Now a much better chef, my younger sister is still living out of Chicago while I moved up to Milwaukee with my fiancée. I started this blog as an ode to her. I hope to motivate others to try and cook new and exciting recipes. Just as Dinner Club brought my sister and I closer, I hope that Dinner Club Recipes foes the same for your family and friends.
